Though there are only 4 pictures total of this
elf, she has a gorgeous dress. Since my friend looks so elvish (the
Galadriel look-alike), I made this dress for her for Halloween. The
body and sleeves were super easy to make but the shawl/drape thing was
IMPOSSIBLE! After numerous tries and fails, I decided to look how AlleyCatScratch
said to make it. As my dad says, “When all else fails, read the
directions.” So, we tried it the AlleyCatScratch way and it worked
the first time (arg!). It's not exactly perfect, but it's pretty close.
When we added trim to this dollar-a-yard fabric (the same that made
the Dream Dress) and embroidered the sleeves, the dress turned out exactly
how we had wanted it.
